The Museum of Ice Cream (MOIC) a pop-up shop located in Los Angeles, California, San Francisco, California, Miami, Florida, and New York.  The Museum of Ice cream is made up of many themed rooms consisting of the banana, sprinkle, popsicle, gummy bear, and cotton candy rooms, along with many more exciting rooms made of scratch and sniff walls. “ It’s like a haunted house for digital natives; a Willy-Wonka induced fever dream,” says the NYMag.

Treats are included with admission such as ice cream from Bi-Rite, CREAM,  it’s-it, and Salt & Straw. Although the MOIC isn’t a traditional museum it still does have some “smaller pieces and installations from up-and-coming artists, plus interactive exhibits,” says The Week.

The Museum of Ice cream has three locations and more to come. The dates for the museum are as follows: Los Angeles open through December 2017, Miami opens December 2017, San Francisco open through February 2018 and New York is closed for the season.

The experience is designed to be about 60 minutes; the only timed event in the MOIC is the 3-feet deep sprinkle pool so everyone can enjoy it, since only about a dozen people can fit in it at a time. There are a variety of games and activities to do during the tour such as ring toss, (pop)rock climbing, swimming and more. Along with sampling some treats along the way (some specially made for the museum such as the strawberry-gingersnap ice cream) stated by EATER San Francisco.

The ticket prices vary upon location (But are generally around $38-$45).You and your party can also rent out the MOIC for a day so you have the whole museum for yourselfs’.

The MOIC was originally a bank in the early 1900’s, but the founder Maryellis Bunn or as the NYMag calls her “The millennial Walt Disney” put some modern touches on the old building.  Such as the bubblegum pink exterior, the wild and vivid colors, the treats, and the secret hidden doors.
